VDC Mechanical Project Lead

Position Overview
The VDC Mechanical Project Lead will oversee and coordinate project activities focused on virtual design and construction (VDC) within mechanical engineering. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while incorporating the latest VDC technologies and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical VDC project team in the planning and execution of projects
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure integration of mechanical designs with overall project plans
Utilize VDC tools and software to create accurate 3D models and simulations for mechanical systems
Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential issues and propose solutions
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the project lifecycle
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders regarding mechanical systems design and VDC processes
Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, address challenges, and communicate updates to clients and management

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of VDC experience
2+ years experience drafting/detailing
Proficiency in VDC tools - including Revit and AutoCAD
Strong knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, fabrication techniques and detailing
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing project teams
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
