Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
Job Location: Laredo, TX (Traveling)
Salary: $120k-$130k + Per diem + Benefits + bonus + PTO, etc.
Requirements: Experience as a SSHO + experience on ground-up Federal construction projects
This is a full time / permanent position for a well-established General contractor with many current and upcoming projects. They are currently hiring for an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer. This person will need experience on structural federal projects.

What You Will Be Doing
Deliver technical and regulatory expertise to guarantee compliance, safe workplaces, and the ongoing improvement
Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure compliance of company safety and policies
Perform daily safety audits
Assist in the development of Safety plans during the pre-construction phase and throughout the construction process.
Identify, develop, and implement programs to train supervisors and employees on necessary safety practices, fire prevention, proper handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, tools, and other project-specific safety applications.
Ensure contractor activities are pre-planned for safety through scope review, pre-construction meetings, AHA review, and more.
What You Need for this Position
Experience in a similar SSHO position on federal projects
Experience on vertical construction / ground-up projects
Experience on Federal projects (preferably with the Corps of Engineers)
Ability to travel / Work in Laredo, TX
Bachelor's degree is a plus
