We are  driven by a purpose bigger than ourselves: to create a better world for people through our work. With over 50 years of innovation and a legacy of excellence, we rank among the nation's best - #13 on Zweig Group's Hot Firms list and #83 on the ENR Top 500.

But what truly sets us apart is our people-first culture. You'll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that values relationships, growth, initiative, and integrity. We believe that when our people succeed, so do our projects - and our communities.

What You'll Do:

  • Design & Draft Excellence: Leverage your CAD skills to prepare detailed civil and physical electrical drawings for high voltage utility substations and renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Partner closely with engineers and other team members to identify solutions and ensure accuracy across all substation designs.
  • End-to-End Drafting: Produce comprehensive drawings including:
    • Substation layouts, plans, elevations
    • Grounding, foundation, conduit, cable management plans
    • Detailed steel, concrete, containment, firewall, and platform drawings (preferred)
    • Bills of materials, notes, and calculations
  • Lead QA/QC Efforts: Act as a drafting quality lead, reviewing work and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Guide, train, and mentor junior designers - sharing your expertise while continuing to develop yourself.
  • Project Management Support: Assist PMs with proposals, resource planning, schedules, and client communications.
  • Cross-Discipline Coordination: Work seamlessly with internal and external teams, from transmission engineers to surveyors, ensuring all parts of the project align.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of CAD experience (AutoCAD preferred), ideally within substation, transmission, or distribution projects.
  • Detail Orientation: A sharp eye for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
  • Team Focus: A commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering superior client outcomes.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Growth Opportunities: We invest in your professional development and provide mentorship, leadership opportunities, and the resources to take your career to new heights.
  • Award-Winning Culture: Recognized nationally as one of the Best Firms to Work For, we foster a supportive, innovative environment where your voice matters.
