Recruiter Spotlight: Colin Callahan Brings His A-Game Every Time He Finds Top Talent

Even though Recruiter Colin Callahan has only been with CyberCoders for a year and a half, he has quickly shown he’s a natural talent.

Collin believes that motivated candidates make the best candidates. He says that finding candidates with strong interpersonal skills, high intelligence and professional aptitude who show drive and motivation, is his recipe for success.

With over 50 job placements, with an emphasis in tech, Colin has recently been promoted, and plans to continue to work hard for his clients by finding them the best candidates.

Colin, tell us about an exciting job match you made recently?

I’ve had the privilege of being a part of a number of great stories, but there is one that really stands out in my mind. A few months ago I had a candidate come to me who was an incredibly talented engineer. Because he had owned his own business for the past seven years, he really had no idea how to get back into the marketplace. So, over a period of a couple months, I helped him build his resume, got him out to as many companies as possible, and helped him prep for his interviews.

After a lot of work, I was able to get him placed with a small startup tech company in New York as a front end developer for an up and coming tech company in the publishing industry. The whole experience was really gratifying. Up until recently, I hadn’t come from a recruiting background, so I had never been part of something like this before. To be able to walk a candidate through, from inception to close, and learn every aspect of the process, was a great professional experience for me.

What drives you to go and above and beyond?

Aside from financial incentives, I really want to perform for CyberCoders. I have had such a great experience over the last year and a half. CyberCoders has provided me with a lot of training and support. I feel like I want to represent the company as best as I can at all times.

I am also driven by the desire to get to the next level. I was just recently promoted, and that was my goal from day one. From here on I want to continue to do the best job I can do, and to take the next steps that will make me better as a recruiter.

What do you think separates CyberCoders from the average recruiting firm?

In my mind, what really stands out is the way CyberCoders empowers their recruiters to be successful. There is such a potential to learn here, it’s really amazing. CyberCoders provides each recruiter the ability to work independently, while also having the support of the broader organizational framework of really awesome teammates and managers. It is also great to see a salary that matches the amount of care and work you put into your job. Working at CyberCoders, you will get out what you put in. If you work hard, and do a good job you’ll see results. It’s an awesome organization as a whole and the people I get to work with are truly amazing coworkers. It’s just been great!
