In-House Insurance Defense Attorney

Location: Roseville, Fresno, or Woodland Hills, CA

Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000+ Base Salary (Depending on level of experience) + Bonuses + PTO/401k Matching and other comprehensive benefits

About Us: Join our In-House Counsel team at our Nationally awarded Insurance Company, where we focus on civil litigation arising from our P&C (Agribusiness) division. As a part of our dynamic legal team, we're offering a hybrid work schedule that provides flexibility to work from home on select days according to the in-office schedule established by regional executive leadership.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced In-House Insurance Defense Attorney to handle a portfolio of insurance defense matters, including civil personal injury, auto accident, and premises liability claims. This role involves all phases of pre-litigation and litigation activity and advising the company on legal issues and strategy considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle all phases of pre-litigation and litigation on insurance defense matters
Conduct fact and expert investigation and analysis, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Provide legal advice and strategic input on litigated and non-litigated insurance defense matters
Communicate professionally and effectively in all formats
Utilize technology and collaborate with support staff for efficient case management
Stay aware of and strategically address changes in law, technology, and industry trends
Provide sound opinions on case valuations and communicate updates promptly
Respond positively to direction and feedback on performance
Maintain professional and appropriate demeanor

Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
Member in good standing of the State Bar of California
7+ years of experience litigating insurance defense matters in an in-house or law firm setting
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Strong quantitative, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license
