Field Service Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team, responsible for providing high-quality service and support for electrical power distribution equipment at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, with expertise in various voltage levels and protective relaying applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution equipment including switchgear, circuit breakers, and generators at customer sites.
  • Conduct acceptance testing and maintenance testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Utilize electrical drawings, schematics, and AutoCAD to assist in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Provide on-site technical support and training to customers regarding the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Coordinate logistics for field service activities, including scheduling and necessary tools or parts for each job.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed in compliance with NFPA70E and manage arc flash hazards during service activities.
  • Assist in the analysis and resolution of short circuit and coordination issues within electrical power distribution systems.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and continuously improve technical skills related to protective relays and electro-mechanical systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
  • Proven experience in field service engineering with a focus on electrical power distribution systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical experience, including low, medium, and high voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with protective relays, switchgear, circuit breakers, generators, and power transformers.
  • Knowledge of maintenance testing procedures and standards, including NETA practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with digital protective relays and protective relaying applications is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a field environment.
