Located in the Heartlands of the Midwest, we are a mechanical contracting company!  We offer a wide range of services for various sectors, including plumbing, piping, HVAC, refrigeration, and general maintenance.  Our expertise covers commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.  We've been in business for over 50 years and are looking to expand our team!

Position Overview
The Estimator - Mechanical Piping will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical piping projects. This role involves analyzing construction documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with project managers to ensure project budgets are met and risks are identified.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical piping projects.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs to determine material and labor requirements for bids.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and budgets.
  • Assess risks associated with project estimates and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present detailed proposals to clients, highlighting cost estimates and value engineering options.
  • Maintain communication with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure accuracy of estimates.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software for data analysis and estimate development.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in mechanical piping or related construction field.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and blueprint reading.
  • Proficiency in quantity takeoff and cost estimating software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform risk analysis and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with project management and budgeting processes.
