Title: Associate Attorney - General Liability, Medical Malpractice Defense

Location: Hybrid - Chicago, IL

Compensation: $100K-$150K (DOE)

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical malpractice law or defense of assisted living/nursing home facilities. This role involves providing legal support, drafting documents, and representing clients in court. 170 hours/month billable hour requirement (2040/year). 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on medical malpractice cases.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for trial, including gathering evidence and preparing witnesses.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations.
  • Consult with clients to understand their legal needs and provide guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and legal arguments.
  • 170 hours/month - 2040 hours/year

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois 
  • 3+ years of experience in general liability defense - focus on medical malpractice or nursing home/assisted living work. 
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
