Because of our growth & backlog of projects, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Estimator, who has at least 7+yrs of experience in a MEP/Mechanical Construction environment, with a focus on HVAC & Plumbing.
Responsibilities
-Attend pre-bid walk thru and/or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes-limited information
-Preparing detailed and accurate scopes of work/proposals
-Reviewing take-offs from our estimators, drawings, and specs for accuracy
-Submitting bid questions (RFIs) to the general contractors in a timely fashion
-Preparing scopes for our subs and vendors
-Evaluate bids of sub-contractor and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, and compliance
-Prepare accurate estimates in our Excel bid format spreadsheet
-Mentor more Jr. Estimators in solving problems
-Prepare spec write ups on larger jobs
-Proper sub and vendor coverage
-Preparing bid Alternates and Unit Prices
Requirements
-7+ Yrs of experience in MEP/Mechanical Construction Estimating
-Heavy focus on prior HVAC & Plumbing within healthcare, commercial, industrial, government, Tenant Improvement, education type projects
-Thorough knowledge of estimating Plan & Spec projects
-Fill in the blanks bidding off an incomplete set of documents
-Working knowledge of Quote Express, Quick Pen or similar estimating software
-Experience with Quote Express on screen software a plus, but not required
-Produce accurate, timely and competitive estimates with minimal data
