Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Location: St. Louis, MO
As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will perform a variety of challenging engineering work supporting production operations in our St. Louis facility. This manufacturing site produces both standard and custom heaters and sensors that go into thermal systems within the semiconductor industry, sustainable energy production, medical equipment, food safety and more.
In this role you will provide technical support for the tooling, equipment, and processes used, not only for existing product lines but also new product lines slated for future expansion. In addition, you will also be responsible for facility related support such as utility changes and additions, building modifications, equipment moves, etcetera. You will be a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team and work directly with operations as well as utilize your knowledge and experience to solve complex problems while working with other team members in a collaborative work environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
Work directly with operations teams to ensure manufacturing process and equipment meets or exceeds production requirements.
Responsible for the timely resolution of manufacturing issues which impact safety, delivery and cost.
Responsible for production tooling design and implementation.
Responsible for machine and automated system design and implementation to support continuous improvement and new product or processes.
Support root cause corrective action and systemic problem elimination.
Provide continuous improvements to meet all customer requirements
Develop, lead, recommend, monitor and drive corrective and preventive actions to resolution
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of related engineering experience OR Technical degree/certificate with 10+ years' related experience
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using creative and systemic problem-solving tools and techniques
Excellent engineering and communication skills to work with a broad range of applications, customers, suppliers and team members
Strong background in machine and tooling design
Flexibility to handle multiple projects of varying size, scope and complexity
Experience with the use of lean manufacturing tools and principles
Working knowledge of measurement systems, techniques and analysis, including basic GD&T understanding and tolerance stack-up calculations
Proactive team player with a desire to build effective working relationships
Working knowledge of quality tools and statistical techniques used in manufacturing (i.e. FMEA's, DRBFM's, process flow maps, SPC, control charts, process capability, MSA, Gauge R&R, Operational Method Sheets, work instructions, RCCA's, 8D's etc.)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Desire to actively develop other team members through coaching and feedback
