Job Title: Sr. Accounting Manager
Location: Germantown, MD
Salary: $145k-$165k DOE
Requirements: 6+ years professional accounting (public & corporate), CPA needed*

Due to growth, we are actively searching for an experienced Manager level CPA Accountant to join our lean and ever-learning team! The Senior Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the finances, SEC reporting and technical accounting for the company and has great career growth opportunities.

- Drive efficient monthly financial statement close process, produce materially complete and accurate financial statements
- Prepare and/or review reconciliations for financial statement line items (cash, investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferred revenue, accruals-including R&D/clinical CRO accruals)
- Research accounting literature, apply technical accounting standards to complex business issues/transactions
- Lead preparation of written accounting position papers for review by management and/or external auditors
- Stay current on accounting pronouncements, lead implementation of applicable updates including disclosure of updates within SEC filings, assist with preparation of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, SEC disclosure requirements
- Partner with Finance team members to assist with SOX compliance efforts, including maintenance of detailed control documentation
- Manage administration of equity plans, including working directly with vendor contact to ensure equity grants are appropriately uploaded and administered, recording quarterly stock-based compensation expenses. Serve as primary contact for external auditors to support annual audit and quarterly reviews. Additional responsibilities within reasonable scope of the position may be requested by management
6+ years experience in accounting, Bachelor's degree and CPA required, biotech/life sciences experience required
- Knowledge of common accounting software, ERP and reporting tools (Excel, NetSuite), revenue recognition, reconciliations, audit support
- Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, GAAP, combination of public and corporate experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance
- Experience with clinical accruals and manufacturing required
- SEC reporting experience required
- Willingness and ability to adhere to tight deadlines
