Quality Manager - Packaging

Title: Quality Manager
Location: Celina, OH
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000
Requirements: 4+ years as Quality Manager; packaging/plastic experience preferred 

We are a company that manufactures blown film and converts raw materials into flexible packaging. We specialize in producing a variety of products, including bags, rolls, sheeting, tubing, and shrink bundling film, all tailored to meet specific customer needs. We use high-quality, virgin, FDA-approved polyethylene resin, as well as recycled materials, to create the required products.

We are looking for a Quality Manager that will be essential for upholding and improving the company's quality standards. This role is responsible for ensuring the final product meets overall quality expectations while aligning quality systems with both customer and organizational requirements. The Quality Manager oversees the scheduling and follow-up of internal audits, manages the comprehensive quality program and food safety initiatives, and leads the quality team and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance Programs: Create and implement effective quality assurance programs to meet industry standards and customer requirements.
• Quality Control Processes: Develop and uphold quality control measures throughout manufacturing.
• Audits and Inspections: Perform regular audits and inspections, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production and engineering teams to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Product Testing: Oversee product testing, analyze results, and apply corrective measures based on findings.
• Supplier Relationships: Build strong partnerships with suppliers to secure high-quality materials.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor the quality control team to achieve their goals.
• Substitute SQF Practitioner: Serve as the backup SQF Practitioner when required.
• SQF and Quality System: Supervise the development and maintenance of SQF and quality systems, including food safety protocols.
• Procedure Documentation: Review and document procedures for SQF and quality systems.
• Training and Competency: Ensure personnel are trained and competent, identifying and addressing training needs.
• Efficiency Improvement: Implement strategies to minimize waste and enhance quality.
• Food Safety System Integrity: Safeguard the food safety system during changes and inform the CB of any blackout periods affecting audits.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years as a Quality Manager
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, etc. 
• Quality Systems Knowledge/Quality Control/ Quality Assurance
• Strong supplier quality experience
• Internal and external auditing experience 
• HACCP certified
