Job Title: Formulation Chemist
Location: Hernando, MS
Salary: $115,000 - $130,000/ year DOE + up to 5% bonus potential, extensive benefits, 401k match
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or similar, 2+ years of relevant R&D experience, and a history of chemical blending

- An industry leader in premier formulating, packaging, and marketing of automotive products

- Write & review procedures, and specifications needed to support quality and product development
- Validate test methods for product development and quality assurance
- Collaborate with other teams on new formula development, projects, and timelines
- Communicate regarding formulation, project status, and results
- Conduct studies for the stability of products
- Provide analytical support using FTIR and GC analysis
- Perform comparative tests with competitive products
- Intellectual searches for technical information through a variety of resources
- Track current trends, practices, developments, and regulatory changes
- Contact vendors to resolve quality issues
- Track COPQ quality issues
- Evaluate raw materials functionality and stability
- Design experimental studies to provide data to resolve technical issues during a project
- Develop manufacturing instructions, scale up batches, and transfer processes into manufacturing
- Additional duties as requested
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or similar
- 2+ years of education or experience in an R&D environment
- History of chemical blending operations
- Past experience with chemical manufacturing
Preferred:
- Past successes that made an impact on your business
- Experience with analytical procedures and equipment (ICP, FTIR, GC, HPLC, UV/Vis. MS, etc.)
