What You Will Be Doing
The QC Manager/QC System Manager will be responsible for managing and performing the daily quality control (QC) responsibilities to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established standards and specifications. The CQCSM role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and coordination with personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to provide and document a quality product. Tasks may include (but are not limited to):
- Enforcing USACE QC and Safety protocol
- Conducting weekly QC meetings with the Superintendent and providing daily QC reports as described in project contract documents
- Stopping work, if necessary, to resolve matters that impact safety and/or quality
- Reviewing drawings and submittals for conformance with project specs
- Entering updates into RMS 3.0
- Reviewing and approving all subcontractors safety plans
- Inspecting the site to ensure it is a hazard-free work environment
- Arranging for OSHA mandated evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants
- Verifying that injury logs and reports are completed
- Training/carrying out drills on how to manage emergency situations
- Serving as the link between state and local agencies and contractors
- Maintaining the project as-built drawings
- Assembling and submitting project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties
What You Need for this Position
5+ years of relevant QC experience and:
- Bachelors Degree (Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management)
- Active PE License (civil, mechanical, or electrical)
- CQM
- Willingness to travel domestically
- Federal project experience (USACE, NAVFAC, and/or DOD)
- Civil construction experience
- Proficiency with RMS 3.0 + P6
- EM 385-1-1 40 hour cert is a PLUS
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
