We are a strong, growing consumer products company looking to add a Data Architect to our team! The role is mostly REMOTE as you will work from home 75% of the time and come into the office occasionally about 25% of the time but not on a regular basis.
You will work closely with our Business Intelligence team and our DBAs owning everything from start to finish with our data warehouse. You will architect, design, develop and support our data warehouse. We are also working towards migrating to Azure.
What You Will Be Doing
- Provide best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; assist in defining scope and sizing of work; and anchor Proof-of-Concept developments.
- Provide thought leadership, mentorship, systems analysis, architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Own and aggressively drive forward areas of data architecture and storage. This includes data management & storage architectures in both cloud and on-premise solutions.
- Provide data architectural solutions/designs to project teams for implementation.
- Become a trusted advisor for AZURE & SQL Server Data Architecture
- Provide architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for data management.
- Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features.
- Project and solution estimation of data related tasks
- Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.
- Support multiple Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production.
- Liaise with offshore teams for resolving technical dependencies, issues, and risks.
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6 + years of hands-on experience with database development, modeling, and governance within a Database Server environment is required.
- 4+ years of AZURE and/or NoSQL data management technologies. AZURE Certification preferred.
- Must have a good grasp of issues of securing data in the cloud
- Strong SQL programming skills and knowledgeable in multiple data solutions using DB2, mySQL, , MsSQL and AZure
- Experience in NoSQL Technology a Plus
