We are currently looking to expand our teams for a Senior Estimator for a wide range of approaching work.
What You Will Be Doing
- Interface with a wide variety of professionals including architects, owner representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
- Manage and lead Owners, the design team, and design-assist trade partners during preconstruction projects. This includes creating and managing preconstruction schedules and preliminary construction schedules, managing the Target Value Design process, providing a variety of estimate updates throughout design development, performing constructability reviews, and finalizing the project budget
- Ensure proper handoff of final estimate to Operations team. This includes reviewing the estimate, allowances, contingencies, proposed subcontractors, inclusions, and exclusions with the Operations team
- Perform a variety of estimating duties including quantity take-offs, database input, coordination of bid documents for distribution to Subcontractors, research of product data and suppliers
- Ensure that bidders have a complete set of bid documents, including alternates, and that their bid is filled in a timely manner as well as meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
- Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently, and client expectations are exceeded throughout the duration of the project(s)
- Prepare a variety of estimates; including conceptual estimates, GMP estimates, and lump-sum estimates
- Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations
- Effectively facilitate collaboration amongst team members and communicate with all stakeholders
- Review and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) from Owners and prepare and distribute RFPs to bidders
- Periodically participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews
- Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing
- Review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
- Determine labor and construction equipment costs
- Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
- Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field of study
- 5+ Years of commercial construction experience including related project experience with interiors construction (in Higher Education, DSA/K-12, and Healthcare Construction)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating (or equivalent) at the General Contractor-level with the demonstrated ability to estimate both large-scale, ground up projects as well as complex and technical tenant improvement work
- Knowledgeable with preconstruction and estimating software programs such as MS Project, Timberline, Procore, Bluebeam, and On Screen Take-off
- General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and CMP processes
