What You Will Be Doing
The position responsibilities are to provide Project managers with ship drawings, submissions, and revisions. To assist with layouts on construction sites, take the filed measurements. Arrange the release and procurement of necessary materials and then assist on installation of various items related to architectural metal and glass.
Examples of tasks include:
- Design development and documentation of standard and custom glass and metal/hardware solutions
- Draft standard details (modify current offering, if needed)
- Evaluate, design and engineer new products to a level that can be fabricated, sourced and repeated
- Prepare CAD details for templates and use in fabrication
- Work with and write 3-Part Specs for all products
- Update and manage Product Matrix (drawings, CAD details, 3-Part Specs, release components, install docs and limit sheets)
- Create Installation documents/sequence drawings
- Generate limits sheet for each product (data to be given to candidate, requirements include formatting and design layout)
- Update AutoCAD drawing templates
- Generate construction notes/typical drawings standards
- Provide remote consulting with sales team and reps, in support of project opportunities and sales development
What You Need for this Position
- Strong technical, drafting and design skills.
- AutoCAD, Solid Works, Excel, Illustrator and Revit.
- Hand-sketching and design visualization is a plus and construction knowledge and shop drawing generation will greatly benefit.
- A strong relationship with distributors and suppliers of hardware (and other components), will facilitate both specification as well as sourcing of components.
- Professional knowledge of terminology, and solutions are required in Door hardware, glass, finishes, construction norms.
- Certification on the DHA AHC program and/or CSI CTD program *if you do not have already, to achieve on an agreed period of time*.
