What You Will Be Doing
- Perform a leadership role and oversee all project activities (estimating, qualifying bids, preparing schedules, defining scope, preparing submittals, sending RFIs, and handling Change Estimates and Change Orders)
- Monitor the 3-week Look Ahead and overall project schedules to properly coordinate activities
- Create punch lists and manage each project completion
- Complete and distribute daily reports and meeting minutes for each project that you are responsible for
- Communicate with all project contacts (e.g. clients and subcontractors) about schedule, progress, changes, etc.
- Work with onsite supervisor (if there is one) regarding approvals, schedule, and inspections
- Develop, maintain and enhance close harmonious relationships with clients, architects, engineers, fellow employees, subcontractors, vendors and local building officials
- Visit the project site and in some cases be the on-site supervision (can be around one hour drive from the company office)
- Conduct job site inspections to confirm each jobs quality, progress, housekeeping, and safety
- Review drawings for estimating and construction
- Perform quantity take offs
- Procure company supplied material

- Compile and submit monthly payment applications to clients
- Interface with government agencies for inspections and obtain Certificate of Occupancies
- Complete a close out binder for clients
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field of study
- 5+ Years of experience of General Contractor experience with related project experience in tenant improvement construction (on Healthcare, Biotech, Clean Room/Lab, and Class-A/B Office projects)
- A Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience as a Project Manager within Commercial Construction
- Working knowledge of all phases of the construction industry, including marketing, scheduling, estimating, cost accounting, construction methodology, contract law
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage contractual agreements
- Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, project accounting, and estimating)
- Proficient with computer programs such as Timberline Estimating, Word, Excel, MS Project, Bluebeam etc. and specialized software utilized for construction management
